JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Office Clerk – Campbell and Rector

DEPARTMENT: Rural Health Clinic

REPORTS TO: Office Manager/RPN/Clinic Coordinator

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High school graduate or equivalent required.  Additional computer and secretarial courses preferred.

Experience: A minimum of two years experience in a health related field.  Ability to type.  Knowledge of medical terminology.  Knowledge of business machines.  Previous computer experience preferred.  To utilize the hospital’s electronic data systems, individuals must have average typing skills and be comfortable working with a computer keyboard and mouse.

Physical: Normal office environment.  Close eye work.  Hearing within normal range.  Oral communication.  Operates typewriter, computer, calculator, fax machine, and copier.  Continuous sitting.  Occasional walking and bending.  Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for office duties including:  greeting, directing and scheduling patients and visitors.  Maintains medical records for admission to discharge, billing and follow-up procedures.
